About Us
Founded in 1985, Osaka Bunka Kokusai Gakkou or OBKG (formerly Osaka International Language School) has a 28-year history of helping students from all over the world achieve their goals.
We believe in an all-encompassing education and guide our students to achieve their academic and other goals and proceed to University at the Bachelor, Bachelor or Technical School level.
We have graduated more than 2,000 students from our school so far. Not only do we offer classes to improve the Japanese language skills and understanding of Japanese culture for international students, we also do our best to guide them in their daily lives so that they can live in Japan with peace of mind.
Surroundings of the School
Our school is a 5-minute walk from JR Tenma Station and Subway Ogimachi Station and is in the middle of a residential area, providing a quiet and conducive environment for learning. Near the school there are 3 large parks where students can relax after studying, take a walk and change their pace.
There is also a shopping street about 2 km long 2 minutes away on foot and there is a lot to see. Umeda (downtown) and Osaka JR station are just a 15-minute walk away. Also within a 5-minute walk is Tenmangu, a temple where Tenjin-matsuri, one of the 3 biggest Japanese festivals, is held every year.
Curriculum and Higher Education
We have kept the classes relatively small for an optimal learning environment. There are also additional classes for beginners looking to strengthen the foundations and students who feel they can't keep up with their peers. Our classes are made up of students of different nationalities and the only common language they share is Japanese; this results in students being able to communicate and practice Japanese. At OBKG, we will guide students who want to go to universities to achieve a 100% pass rate in the entrance exam.
